1. Compared with 1.60 index lenses at the same diameter and same power:

     (1) Thinner - the average edge thickness is 11% thinner;

     (2)Lighter - 7% lighter on average.

3. Compared with 1.60 index lens in lower price but thick, also 1.74 index lens thinner but high price, the 1.71 lens is both thin and cost-effective.

4. The tenacity of 1.71 lens is similar to the 1.67 MR-7 and is suitable for rimless/nylon frames.
